Two pools finished with the same green stone can feel very different. Tile size, grout lines and the proportions of each surface all influence the composition. Choosing Sukabumi pool tile is therefore about more than selecting a color: it is about deciding how the stone will read across the project.
Golden Isla Tile offers Green Sukabumi Bali Stone Pool Tile in 4x4, 4x8 and 8x8 inch formats. No single size is best for every pool. The right choice depends on whether you want a detailed grid, a directional layout or larger individual stone faces.
The three formats at a glance
| Format | Visual character | What to evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| 4x4 | A small, repeating square grid. | Bands, details and surfaces where a more visible grout-line rhythm is part of the design. |
| 4x8 | A rectangular layout with direction. | Horizontal versus vertical orientation, joint alignment and corner transitions. |
| 8x8 | A larger-scale square grid. | Broad walls and open surfaces where individual stone pieces can have more visual presence. |
4x4: detail and repetition
The 4x4 format creates a small-scale composition. Along a waterline, the repeating squares can form a defined border; around a spa, they can establish a consistent rhythm. This does not make the format automatically suitable for every curve. Review radii, cuts and transitions with your installer before deciding.
Evaluate several pieces together with the proposed grout rather than looking at one tile alone. Joint spacing and contrast can be as visually influential as the green stone itself.
4x8: direction and balance
The 4x8 rectangle provides a clear way to guide the eye. A horizontal arrangement can follow the length of a wall, while a vertical composition changes the emphasis. Before choosing a stacked or offset layout, ask for a setting-out drawing that includes corners, steps and the other elements of the design.
This format is worth considering when you want a contemporary pool composition that still allows the natural variation of the stone to be visible.
8x8: a broader expression of the stone
Each 8x8 piece occupies more space within the composition. On comparable surfaces with similar joint widths, its grid has fewer divisions than a 4x4 layout. That can create a more open visual rhythm, although actual dimensions and edge cuts will affect the result.
Do not choose the size from a close-up photograph alone. Consider the viewpoint from which you will usually see the pool: the deck, a window or the seating area.
Grout color is part of the design
A grout color close to Sukabumi's tone can help blend the pattern. A lighter or darker option makes the lines more visible. Compare the alternatives with dry and damp stone, then place them beside the coping and interior-finish sample. Setting materials, grout and installation details should be appropriate for the intended use.
From square footage to boxes
The current product listing specifies box-only ordering and 10.76 SQFT per box. For a 100 SQFT project, if your installer recommends a 10% allowance, the example calculation is 100 × 1.10 ÷ 10.76 = 10.22 boxes. Rounding up gives 11 boxes, or 118.36 SQFT of nominal coverage. This is a planning example, not a universal allowance: cuts, layout and geometry may call for a different percentage.
